Sheriff's office makes 11 arrests on numerous charges

The Callaway County Sheriff's Office recently arrested 11 individuals on a variety of felony charges over the span of five days, according to a department news release.

Deputies conducted a criminal investigation at 5:24 p.m. Aug. 2 in the area of county roads 381 and 382, locating a vehicle that had been reported as stolen to the Eldon Police Department.

Shara Chambers, 40, of Jefferson City, was arrested for first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle in addition to a Jefferson City warrant. Chambers was taken to the Callaway County Jail, where she posted bond and was released.

Deputies conducted a criminal investigation regarding a weapons offense at 9:54 a.m. Aug. 2 in the 11000 block of County Road 4012 near Holts Summit. During the investigation, a Missouri Highway Patrol trooper and deputies located Matthew Evans, 28, of Eugene, nearby in the 2900 block of Route AA.

Evans was arrested for felon in unlawful possession of a firearm and first-degree trespassing. He was taken to the Callaway County Jail, where he posted bond and was released pending a court appearance. The Highway Patrol assisted with the investigation.

A deputy attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Douglas Lee, 41, of Hallsville, at 10:51 p.m. Aug. 1 on Route J near I-70. Lee did not stop and fled from deputies north onto County Road 269.

During the pursuit, Lee threw a firearm from the vehicle before he ultimately stopped and was arrested. Deputies located the firearm and determined it was stolen from Audrain County.

Lee was arrested for felony resisting arrest, felony stealing a firearm, tampering with evidence in a felony investigation, felony unlawful possession of a firearm, driving while revoked, exceeding the posted speed limit and failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.

Lee was taken to the Callaway County Jail, where he is being held without bond per a judge's order. At the time of his arrest, Lee was under the supervision of the Missouri Department of Corrections - Board of Probation and Parole.

A deputy was patrolling Route AA at 10:31 p.m. Aug. 1 near County Road 499 and stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. During an investigation, a felony-level controlled substance was located and a 16-year-old juvenile from Holts Summit was detained for felony possession of a controlled substance.

The deputy released the juvenile to his parent by order from the Callaway County Juvenile Office.

A deputy was on patrol at 3:06 a.m. Aug. 1, when he observed Devin Albers-Hook, 19, of Fulton, in the 800 block of West 7th Street in Fulton. Albers-Hook was wanted in reference to a Callaway County Felony Probation Violation warrant and was additionally being sought for stealing a firearm regarding an ongoing CCSO investigation.

Albers-Hook was arrested and taken to the Callaway County Jail, where he is being held on a $40,000 bond.

A deputy was patrolling Route A at 2 a.m. Aug. 1 near County Road 181 and stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. Deric Farley, 36, of Portland, was subsequently arrested for felony driving while revoked.

Farley was taken to the Callaway County Jail, where he posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.

Deputies conducted an investigation at 9:11 p.m. July 31 in the Auxvasse area regarding a disturbance involving weapons. Upon the deputies' arrival, they encountered Vincent Wagner, 35, of Fulton, who was brandishing a large knife.

Wagner was taken into custody without further incident and was transported to the Callaway County Jail, where he was charged by the Callaway County prosecuting attorney with second-degree felony domestic assault. Wagner remains in custody on a $15,000 bond.

Deputies - in conjunction with the Holts Summit Police Department - conducted a criminal investigation at 6:47 p.m. July 31 in the 100 block of Northstar Street in Holts Summit and located a felony-level controlled substance.

Zane Wohlers, 18, of Fulton, was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance. Wohlers was taken to the Callaway County Jail and released on a court summons.

Deputies conducted a criminal investigation at 5:58 p.m. July 29 in the 700 block of Hickman Avenue in Fulton. During the investigation, Brandon Byrd, 36, of Fulton, was arrested for felony violation of a protection order.

Byrd was taken to the Callaway County Jail, where he posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.

During the same investigation, Victoria Loyd, 22, of Fulton, was arrested for first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle for an original offense that occurred near Steedman. Loyd was taken to the Callaway County Jail and released on a court summons.

Deputies conducted an investigation at 1:51 p.m. July 28 in the 5000 block of Jade Road in Kingdom City. During the investigation, deputies located Jordan Vaughn, 41, of Thompson, hiding in a bathroom.

Vaughn was wanted in reference to several warrants, including a felony probation violation warrant issued by the Missouri Department of Corrections. She was taken to the Callaway County Jail, where she remains in custody pending a court bond setting.
