The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported three crashes in Callaway County over the past week.

Thursday, Karen Sammons, 52, of Fulton was driving north on County Road 230 at about 6:55 p.m. when her vehicle travelled off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole. Sammons, who was wearing a seatbelt, received minor injuries and was transported to University Hospital. Her vehicle, a 2008 Chevrolet Prism, was totalled.

Wednesday, Laura Denneny, 30, of St. Louis was driving west on I-70 near Mile Marker 160 when her vehicle hydroplaned and exited the road. The vehicle returned to the road, where it struck a tractor-trailer being driven by Larry Ward, 50, of Tabor, Iowa. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Denneny received minor injuries and was taken to University Hospital, while Ward was uninjured. Denneny's 2010 Nissan Versa was totalled; Ward's 2020 Peterbuilt received minor damage.

Tuesday, Skylar Mittag, 27, of Mexico was driving east on U.S. Highway 54 near County Road 2002, behind a tractor driven by 78-year-old Jerry Austin of Fulton. Mittag's 2009 Pontiac GT rear-ended Austin's 2001 John Deere 7810 before travelling off the road and coming to a stop in the ditch. Austin's tractor drove into the median. Neither driver was wearing a seatbelt; Mittag received moderate injuries and was transported to University Hospital, while Austin was uninjured. The Pontiac was totalled. The incident took place at around 4:45 p.m.
