MoDOT to begin replacing drainage pipes Monday

The Missouri Department of Transportation will begin replacing drainage pipes along U.S. 54 and Interstate 70 on Monday.

MoDOT crews will be replacing pipes north of Kingdom City from the Auxvasse Creek bridge to the I-70 interchange. This work will cause occasional westbound passing lane closures and will take place 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Once the pipes are replaced along U.S. 54, MoDOT will begin replacing drainage pipes along I-70 between mile markers 152 and 160.

Passing lane closures will occur both eastbound and westbound while the work will take place 7 p.m.-5 a.m.

"The work is expected to be completed this fall. Motorists will need to use caution in work zones," Lissie Wade, MoDOT's intermediate communications specialist, said in a news release.
