Woman arrested for Dairy Queen burglary

A New Bloomfield woman previously fired after a theft at the Fulton Dairy Queen has been arrested in connection with a burglary at the same business.

Mary Ostrander, 26, faces charges of felony stealing and second-degree burglary.

On Nov. 21, the Fulton Police Department took a report of a theft involving an employee at Dairy Queen. Police were told the employee, identified as Mary Ostrander, had stolen $750 by making false refunds, according to the arrest report.

On April 9, the FPD received a report of a burglary at Dairy Queen, again involving Ostrander, whom the police describe as a "former employee" of the business. Police were told Ostrander entered the business without permission and stole the deposit bag from the manager's office. An external security camera picked up footage of Ostrander leaving the business, driving a vehicle registered to herself.

Police arrested Ostrander for the two incidents Tuesday and took her to the Callaway County Jail. Her bond was set at $9,000.
