The Callaway County Sheriff's Office reported a handful of felony arrests Thursday and Friday.

The Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged Steven Thomas Jr., 29, of Fulton with felony unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of assault on Friday. Thomas is being held in the Callaway County Jail without bond until a court bond review.

The charges resulted from an Callaway County Sheriff's Department investigation conducted at 6:26 p.m. Thursday in the 7000 block of state Road NN. Deputies initially responded to a reported disturbance in which shots had been fired. Upon arrival, deputies encountered Thomas Jr. and took him into custody.

During the investigation, the deputy came into contact with James Harper, 32, of Fulton and located methamphetamine in the vehicle. Harper was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance, booked and processed at the Callaway County Jail and released on summons.
