On Wednesday, William Woods University announced the appointment of Ann Judge and Brad Gibbs to the William Woods Board of Trustees.

The appointments of Judge and Gibbs were voted on unanimously by the university's current governing board during its fall meeting last week and are effective immediately.

"We are pleased to add two professionals of the caliber of Ann Judge and Brad Gibbs to the William Woods Board of Trustees," WWU President Jahnae Barnett said Wednesday.

Judge, of Denver, Colorado, is a nationally-known horse trainer and hall of fame judge who has operated a show horse training facility since 1985. The Arabian and half-Arabian horses she trains have won national awards in several divisions. She has served as a judge for several national and world shows on numerous occasions in the U.S., Canada, Australia and South Africa.

When not showing or judging horses, Judge serves as the rider of "Thunder," official mascot of the NFL's Denver Broncos, which she has been doing for 22 seasons including two Super Bowl appearances.

She is a member of the Pinto Judges Hall of Fame and has also won the Arabian Professional Amateur Horseman's Association Horsewoman of the Year in 2016 and 2018 and the Pinto Hall of Fame Horsewoman of the Year in 2018. She is a graduate of Purdue University.

"Ann's national reputation for excellence in the equine industry, including serving as rider for the Denver Broncos' official mascot Thunder, is a great fit at an institution like ours with the nation's premiere higher education equestrian program," Barnett said.

Gibbs, of Overland Park, Kansas, brings to the board more than 20 years experience in higher education enrollment marketing leadership. He currently serves as the executive vice president of Archer Education, a higher education enrollment marketing, recruitment and retention services firm that provides services to more than 200 colleges and universities.

Previously, Gibbs served as chief development officer for Grantham University, where he oversaw enrollment marketing and communications, and university outreach; and president of higher education, chief growth officer and vice president of sales and marketing at Plattform, another enrollment marketing firm, with offices in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Gibbs has served as a operations board member for Plattform and a board member for the Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities political action committee. He was named to the 2014 40-Under-40 list in Kansas City by Ingram's Magazine. He is a graduate of Fort Hays State University.

"Brad's expertise in higher education enrollment marketing would be an considerable asset to any university," Barnett said. "We are thrilled to have both of them join our university's governing board."
