FHS students recognized at annual State Convention

The Missouri Association of Student Councils has announced Haden Trowbridge, Grace Sparks, Evan Gray and Mattie Arnold of Fulton High School were recognized at the 71st annual State Convention at Lindbergh High School March 7-9.

The Distinguished Student Leader Award is the highest recognition bestowed on graduating seniors who have demonstrated superior student council leadership skills and knowledge based on MASC criteria and evaluation procedures. MASC works to instill the core values of the organization into their schools and their members.

The Honor Council Committee of Missouri Association of Student Councils also announced that Fulton High School Student Council has been awarded the Missouri Association of Student Councils Award. Honor Council presentations were made recently at the annual MASC Convention.

This honor is based on an application submitted by Fulton High School Student Council. Fulton High School Student Council met the criteria as established by the Honor Council committee and the MASC Advisory Board. The criteria are established to honor those councils that have a comprehensive program in promoting student activities and student leadership. Activities include school service, spirit, community service, student and teacher recognition, and leadership training activities.

Student Councils and student leaders make a positive contribution to their schools and help to create a positive educational climate. Fulton High School Student Council provides an atmosphere where students and Student Council can play a vital role in school. Missouri Association of Student Councils recognizes the advisorship of Janet Trowbridge and Morgan Davison who certainly played a large part in the acquisition of this award. Principal Chris Mincher also should be commended for supporting the young leaders of Fulton.
