KINGDOM CITY, Mo. — A fire at the Super 8 Hotel in Kingdom City was extinguished with minimal damage, North Callaway Fire Protection District Chief Lana Karhoff said.
Karhoff said the NCFPD was summoned to the Super 8 in the early hours of Monday. By the time fire engines arrived, the firefighters found deputies of the Callaway County Sheriff's Office had already begun the evacuation process. The second floor of the building was full of smoke, she said.
The evacuation moved swiftly, and crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly, Karhoff said. No injuries were reported, and the hotel received minimal damage. Hotel management could not be reached for comment.
Central Callaway Fire Protection District and the Fulton Fire Department provided mutual aid.
