Fulton officer involved in shooting near McIntire Elementary

The Fulton Police Department reported an officer-involved shooting behind McIntire Elementary on Monday morning.

An FPD officer reported the shooting at approximately 9:47 p.m. Monday. The Missouri Highway Patrol was immediately called in to investigate the incident, according to police reports.

The individual involved in the shooting was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

School was not in session at the time of the incident.

The involved officer was immediately placed on administrative leave, per department policy, police reported.

MSHP Troop F spokesperson Scott White said the investigation is ongoing.

"The (MSHP) is handling the case, so any further news releases will come from them," said Fulton Police Chief Steve Myers.
