New Bloomfield Education Foundation hosts fundraiser

NEW BLOOMFIELD, Mo. - The New Bloomfield Education Foundation will host a fundraiser Saturday to help teachers and children.

From 5-10 p.m., drop by Meadow Lake Acres Country Club for dinner, a pie auction and entertainment. Adult tickets cost $20, while child tickets (age 3-12) cost $5. Contact 573-680-5333 or [email protected] to purchase tickets or learn more.

The NBEF was founded in 2011 by New Bloomfield R-3 alumni with a vision toward providing classroom grants, enhancing educators' ability to provide a quality education to New Bloomfield students. Since then, the education foundation has provided more than $80,000 in classroom grants.

Teachers have put those funds - donated by generous alumni, friends and community members - toward projectors, iPads and other valuable classroom tools.

This Saturday's "Fundraiser for Kids" is designed to increase awareness of the foundation, instill a sense of community and raise funds to support the round of classroom grants to be issued this October. Also during the event, the NBEF will issue its annual Legacy Awards.
