Full of errors, Ks and long-sleeve shirts, Fulton baseball beats North Callaway

Everyone trooped out on Military Night, including the veteran umpire crew of Darrell Tucker and Chandis Newell, Friday at Darrell Davis Field.

In a nearly three-hour game full of errors, strikeouts and long-sleeve shirts, the Fulton Hornets prevailed, beating the North Callaway Thunderbirds 16-10.

Fulton boys track and field wins five events in California Quad

Fulton boys track and field recorded five first-place finishes in the California Quad Thursday at California High School.

With it being a four-team event, there were no medals or team scores.

Monday

Adm. Stavridis talks foreign affairs at Westminster College

Retired U.S. Navy Adm. James Stavridis gave the Churchill Fellows Weekend keynote speech on Saturday at Westminster College.

A former NATO Supreme Allied Commander, Stavridis was one of eight inducted into the Association of Churchill Fellows during the installation program.

Dorsey appeals again after Missouri Supreme Court denies petitions

Legal counsel for Brian Dorsey requested his April 9 execution be prohibited.

A news release states attorneys from Phillips Black and BCLP requested the Cole County Circuit Court prohibit Dorsey's execution under Missouri Department of Corrections Acting Director Trevor Foley.

Fulton Rotarians hear from incoming Rotary International president

Three members of the Fulton Rotary Club recently attended a training conference, where they heard from the first woman from the United States to be Rotary International President.

Jacque Cowherd, president-elect of the Fulton Rotary Club, Allen Huggins and Mary Ann Beahon attended the Show Me Rotary Leadership Institute March 22-23 in Springfield. Huggins and Beahon are both past club presidents and members of the Show Me Rotary Council, a release states.

Heart of Missouri CASA to host events, fundraising campaign

Heart of Missouri Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) will host awareness and fundraising events throughout April.

The non-profit organization recruits and trains volunteers in Boone County and Callaway County to be court-appointed advocates for children in foster care.

Holts Summit Food Bank provides food to local families

The Holts Summit Food Bank at Union Hill Baptist Church, provides food to local families in need.

The food bank is open from 6-7:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at Union Hill Baptist Church (460 South Summit Drive) in Holts Summit.

Summit Cafe open in Holts Summit

Summit Cafe opened in Holts Summit on Monday.

Floriana Dauti owns the new restaurant with her husband. Her husband's dad owns The Flame restaurant in California, Missouri.

Thursday

Fulton City Council discusses street improvements, grant applications

Some streets in Fulton will soon be updated and improved.

During Tuesday's Fulton City Council meeting, utilities superintendent Darrell Dunlap and city engineer Kyle Bruemmer discussed sewer and street updates in the city.

Fulton man charged after stabbing family member in back

A Fulton man faces felony charges after repeatedly stabbing a family member in the back.

Online court documents state the Fulton Police Department was dispatched to a domestic assault around 8:18 p.m. Tuesday near Cote Sans Dessin Road in Fulton.

Callaway County Sheriff's Office assists in multi-county pursuit

The Callaway County Sheriff's Office assisted the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office in a pursuit on Wednesday.

A release from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office states deputies in Montgomery County attempted a traffic stop at 11:49 a.m. Wednesday on westbound Interstate Highway 70 near New Florence.

Sheriff's Office arrests wanted fugitive for resisting arrest

The Callaway County Sheriff's Office arrested a wanted fugitive for resisting arrest on Saturday.

A release states deputies searched for wanted fugitive Joshua Temmen, 32, around 2:30 p.m. Monday at a residence on the 3000 block of Vast View Drive outside of Holts Summit.
