The Missouri Tigers have found an experienced quarterback to add to their roster this fall.

Drew Pyne, who has played previously at Arizona State and Notre Dame, committed to Missouri during a visit this weekend. ESPN was the first to report the commitment.

In his press conference before the start of spring practice, Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz said the Tigers were looking to add an experienced quarterback in the spring portion of the transfer portal to backup returning starter Brady Cook.

Sam Horn, who also pitches for the Missouri baseball team, underwent Tommy John surgery earlier this year and is not expected to be ready to play this fall as he continues his recovery process.

Pyne, who will join the Tigers this summer, is 8-3 as a starter in his college career. He was 8-2 as a starter at Notre Dame in 2022, throwing for 2,021 yards with 22 touchdown passes and six interceptions. He transferred to Arizona State after that season.

Pyne played in two games last fall at Arizona State -- including one start -- after being injured in the preseason. He will have three years of eligibility starting the fall.

Cook’s eligibility will run out this fall and Horn is a potential high pick in next year’s Major League Baseball Draft.

Missouri will wrap up spring practice Saturday with the Black and Gold Game.

Kickoff is 1 p.m. at Faurot Field.
