NORTH NEWTON, Kan. -- William Woods put in a solid set of performances in three rounds over two days at the Thresher Invitational hosted by Bethel College.
The Owls finished ninth on both days, earning consistent scores across all three rounds.
"This weekend we produced two of our best routines of the season! The energy that the athletes had during their performances was electric -- and caught the attention of a lot of other programs," William Woods competitive cheerleading coach Toni Snyder said in a release. "We had some issues with execution in some areas, but we were able to raise the overall difficulty of our routines. Going into the weekend, we knew that this would be a difficult competition due to the large amount of nationals teams in attendance, but the team kept their heads high -- and did that they needed to do in order to show the judges how hard they had been working. We're putting our talons out as we fight through the end of our season!"
The Owls wrap up the regular season on Friday at the Cougar Classic, hosted by Columbia College.
