South Callaway girls basketball’s Laughlin scores game-high 14 in loss to Fatima JV

MOKANE -- The South Callaway Lady Bulldogs fell 58-40 to the Fatima Comets' junior varsity team Thursday at South Callaway High School.

Fatima led 10-9 after one quarter, 29-24 at halftime and 41-27 through three quarters.

McKenzie Laughlin scored a game-high 14 points for the Lady Bulldogs, Reagan Arrowood posted 10 and Kelsey Wetherell had seven.

Adelyn Berhorst tallied a team-high 11 points for the Comets, Alex Berhorst recorded 10 and Elise Dickneite had eight.

South Callaway dropped to 3-20, and Fatima improved to 7-4.

"The girls played hard," South Callaway girls basketball coach Daniel Burns said. "We were able to execute on the offensive end, and our defensive pressure also helped us add possessions and generate points. Overall, I was proud of the execution tonight, and we are continuing to improve as the season progresses."

The Lady Bulldogs host Madison (3-21) at 5 p.m. today at South Callaway Callaway High School in Mokane. According to MSHSAA's record book, which dates back to the 2005-06 season, it'll be the first time South Callaway meets the Lady Panthers.
