North Callaway boys golf places ninth in Southern Boone Tournament

HARTSBURG, Mo. -- On a windy and rainy Wednesday, North Callaway boys golf placed ninth out of 17 teams in the 18-hole Southern Boone Tournament at Eagle Knoll Golf Course.

The Thunderbirds carded a 99-over 387. New Bloomfield placed 12th with a 424, and South Callaway 16th with a 556.

Host Southern Boone signed for a 319 to win the team title. Blair Oaks placed second with a 322, and California took third with a 339.

Linn's Jett Maasen shot an ever-par 72 to top the individual leaderboard, Southern Boone's Kaden Massie carded a 73 to place second and Blair Oaks' Michael Atnip posted a 75 to take third.

North Callaway's Anthony Russell and Tyler Huddleston carded a 91, Vincent Houchins a 97 and Clayton Moore a 108.

New Bloomfield's Brenan Fessler shot a 95, Travis Allen a 100, Robert Schrimpf a 114, Donovan Ostberg a 115 and Payden Nagel a 120.

Hunter Smith, South Callaway's lone competitor, posted a 106.

The Thunderbirds tee off in the EHS Invitational on Monday at Sun Valley Golf Course in Elsberry.

New Bloomfield will compete against California, Hallsville, and Russellville in the California Quad at 4 p.m. today at California Country Club in California, Missouri.

South Callaway participates in the Centralia Tournament on Monday at Centralia Community Golf Course in Centralia.
