South Callaway boys T&F’s Willenberg earns silver at South Callaway MS Invitational

MOKANE, Mo. -- Braydon Willenburg placed second in the 100-meter hurdles as South Callaway boys track and field finished eighth out of 21 teams in the South Callaway MS Invitational Wednesday at South Callaway High School.

The Bulldogs scored 21 points, one more than Callaway County rival New Bloomfield. Hallsville topped the leaderboard with 116½ points, California placed second with 107 and Russellville took third with 76.

Willenburg clocked in at 17.34 seconds in the 100 hurdles to earn South Callaway's only silver medal.

South Callaway's 4x100 team of Parker Pahl, Josh Bell, Evan Fort and Brock Caruthers took third at 54.41.

"WOW!" South Callaway track and field coach Stephen Wisch said. "Thank you to everyone who helped make tonight possible. We had over 500 kids come down to SC and compete, and our community ran off an amazing meet. This type of thing can only happen due to the village that is SC track. Now let's do it again tomorrow night for the high school!"

South Callaway competes in the Callaway County Relays at 2 p.m. Tuesday at New Bloomfield High School.
