Fulton girls T&F wins FMS Invitational

FULTON, Mo. -- Fulton girls track and field thrived on its home track, winning the Fulton Middle School Invitational Monday at Fulton High School.

The Hornets scored 116½ points, 12 more than fellow Callaway County team South Callaway, which finished second. New Bloomfield, making it a Callaway top three, took third with 91 points.

Chazlyn Long notched an impressive three gold medals for Fulton, winning the 100-meter dash (14.14 seconds), 200 (29.14) and high jump (4 feet and 5.94 inches).

Chazlyn wasn't done there, joining sister Jayda Long, Memphis Stewman and Tamijah Pittman on the Hornets' 4x100 relay team that took third at 58.04.

Fulton's 4x800 squad of Juliana See, Olivia Hooker, Abby Landeros and Jordan Walton also took third at 13:25.2.

Darcy Patten recorded two second-place finishes for the Hornets, throwing the discus 58-2.43 and shot put 27-3.95.

Chesney Thomas in the long jump (13-9.35) and Bella Yates in the pole vault (6-7.13) finished third in field events for Fulton.

The Hornets are back at it in the Callaway County Relays at 2 p.m. next Tuesday at New Bloomfield High School.
