Arnold wins high jump; Fulton girls T&F finish fifth at Centralia Invitational

CENTRALIA, Mo. -- Audrey Arnold won the high jump, as Fulton girls track and field finished fifth out of 14 teams with 64 points in the Centralia Invitational Tuesday at Centralia High School.

Led by Addyson Werdehausen's second-place finish in the javelin, New Bloomfield placed 12th with 18 points.

Host Centralia topped the leaderboard with 142 points, Moberly placed second with 90 and Blair Oaks took third with 74.2.

Fulton's Arnold won the high jump at 4 feet and 9 inches, just beating out Hallsville's Ellie Schisler.

Werdehausen hurled the javelin 107-7, 10-5 away from the winner, Centralia's Harper Forshee.

The Hornets' 4x100-meter relay team of Joselyn Zamora-Santana, Shandraya Henson, Talyn Clark, and Jozhanae Long placed second with a time of 53.94 seconds. They were .43 away from first-place Macon's squad of Ella Terry, Amiya Brown, Danni McVicker and Payton Weimer.

The Lady Wildcats also medaled in the 4x100, with their team of Myah Briggs, Werdehausen, Kaelyn Tighe and Addison Baker finishing sixth at 56.03.

Fulton and New Bloomfield each had a fourth-place relay team: the Hornets' 4x200 of Zamora-Santana, Henson, Clark and Paris Benson (1:54.08), and the Lady Wildcats' 4x400 of Briggs, Baker, Marley Hunt and Tighe (4:30.26).

Fulton's 4x800 squad of Mackenzie McDaniel, Kinsley Rentschler, Ava Santhuff, and Isabel Casey finished fifth at 11:09.74, rounding out its three relay medalists.

Individual fourth-place finishers for the Hornets were Santhuff in the 1,600 runs (6:15.09) and Emmy Begemann in the triple jump (31-3¼).

Long recorded Fulton's lone individual fifth-place performance in the 100 dash at 13.27.

Addison Milius took sixth in two hurdles events, 100 (18.44) and 300 (53.45), for the Hornets.

New Bloomfield hits the track for the South Callaway HS Invitational at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at South Callaway High School in Mokane.

Fulton's next meet is the McCush Relays at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Boonville High School.
