FULTON -- William Woods (7-6) started Friday's match against former AMC foe Freed-Hardeman (2-11) up 1-0 due to a short roster for the Lions, but Woods proved that the lead was not a fluke, dominating through a 7-0 win on Friday.

"We finally got our very elusive 7-0 win," William Woods tennis coach Chance Joost said in a release. I'm happy with our growth today. It started getting windy, and the Freed girls really battled, but our girls did what they needed to do to win. We turned in a good performance today, and now we have a much-deserved couple of days off."

With Woods earning a walkover at the three doubles, Marta Calvo Larraz and Hanna Lindeboom finished the doubles point with a 6-2 win over Hannah Pearce and Morgan Brown at the one line.

Lindeboom and Lena Greefs finished within moments of each other at the one and two singles to claim the match win for Woods. Lindeboom defeated Elize Kruzan 6-1, 6-0, with Greefs defeating Pearce 6-0, 6-1.

Kristina Dimitrijevic was the only Owl who was vigorously tested on the afternoon. She battled to a 7-5 first-set win at the three-line before shutting out Brown 6-0.

The Owls' next game is an AMC rematch against Missouri Baptist. Woods will celebrate Senior Day before Wednesday's AMC contest.
