The Callaway County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday morning an update to a theft incident in Kingdom City in August.

On Aug. 19, CCSO investigated the theft of a tractor, front-end loader and car hauler trailer from a Kingdom City farm.

The property was valued at over $25,000, according to a CCSO release.

On Aug. 23, the stolen property was recovered. Other stolen items were also recovered.

During the investigation, Brenton Stith, 36, was arrested while attempting to hide in a residence from deputies.

According to online court documents, Stith pled guilty to multiple felony charges related to the Kingdom City farm property theft.

He pled guilty to felony charges of burglary (2nd degree), tampering with motor vehicle (1st degree), property damage (1st degree) and stealing $750 or more.

Stith was sentenced to the Missouri Department of Corrections for seven years.

He was previously sentenced to DOC for five years, a release states.

"The last time Mr. Stith went to DOC, he served only a fraction of his sentence," Ben Miller, Callaway County prosecuting attorney, said in a release. "Due to the thorough and exceptional investigation conducted by the Callaway County Sheriff's Office, I was able push for the maximum sentence for the multiple offenses committed by Mr. Stith. I am so thankful for the strong relationship between my office and the dedicated law enforcement professionals from Callaway County Sheriff's Office."
