Jefferson City Medical Group opened an express care clinic in Callaway County on Monday.

Ilana Holland, director of marketing & communications at Jefferson City Medical Group, said the clinic will provide "wellness services such as physicals and immunizations" in addition to treating "conditions that are non-life threatening."

Additionally, physician Rezwan Islam will "see new and established patients one day a week by appointment," Holland said.

The clinic also has "x-ray capabilities," Holland said.

Holland said "Callaway County has been without extended hours healthcare facilities" since Callaway Community Hospital closed in 2022. SSM Health Family Medicine also closed in 2020.

The old SSM Health Family Medicine building was remodeled into Jefferson City Medical Group's express care clinic.

The Callaway County Commission signed a contract with Jefferson City Medical Group in March. The contract gave the medical group $520,216 of the $8.6 million the county received from the American Rescue Plan Act in 2021.

The clinic opened Monday with limited hours. From Sept. 18-Oct. 10, the clinic will be open 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.

Starting Oct. 11, the clinic will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The Callaway County Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the clinic for its grand opening at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 11.

The express care clinic is located at 350 Country Meadows Lane in Fulton.
