"We showed up not ready to play today, and that's my problem as a coach, not getting the team prepared," New Bloomfield softball coach Zach Moore said. "I want to do better preparing our team for games. That's on me."

"When we show up and we're not ready, that's on me," Moore said. "Mentally, we're not ready to win and compete at the plate today as I'd hoped. So, obviously, we're in a bit of a funk right now. So we'll go back to the drawing board, and we'll get it all figured out."

New Bloomfield hosts Rolla (6-11) at 5 p.m. Monday in its Pink Out Game at New Bloomfield High School.

"October is breast cancer awareness month, but obviously our season doesn't run there," Moore said. "So we want to do what we can to give back. Last year, we were able to donate to a kid from a different community who was struggling with cancer. It wasn't breast cancer, but struggling with cancer.

"So anything we can do to help out people who are less fortunate situation, we're gonna do those things. We're selling, we sold some shirts. We're gonna be raising money accepting donations. And all of that will be going to support breast cancer awareness."
