MOKANE -- The New Bloomfield Wildcats boys cross country team took fourth in the South Callaway Invitational Saturday at South Callaway High School.
New Bloomfield's boys team scored 103 points, while South Callaway's had 196 points and finished seventh out of 10 teams.
Centralia topped the boys team leaderboard with 42 points. Priory's Gregory Britt won the boys 5,000-meter run at 16 minutes, 43.22 seconds.
The Wildcats had four top-30 finishes in the boys field of 73: Riley Connell placed 11th at 18:07.20, Nathan Fuhriman 14th at 18:27.48, Jayson Locke 21st at 19:21.39 and Conor Lawrence 26th at 19:32.12.
Tucker Jones ran the fastest time for the host Bulldogs, finishing 31st at 20:00.69.
New Bloomfield finished sixth out of six teams in the girls race with 108 points; South Callaway didn't have enough runners for a score.
Centralia swept the team trophies, as its girls team won with 49 points. Eldon's Zoe Martonfi had the fastest time in the girls 5,000 run at 19:45.45.
The Lady Bulldogs' Kilea Holmeyer medaled, finishing 11th out of 59 at 23:39.89.
The Lady Wildcats notched two top-3o finishes, with Addison Baker placing 17th at 24:18.07 and Kaelyn Tighe 25th at 26:09.33.
New Bloomfield and South Callaway will run in the Gans Creek Classic at 8 a.m. next Saturday at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia.
