Fulton’s Hedgpath twins officially sign for Lincoln softball

FULTON -- The Fulton Hornets' Hedgpath twins, Jayna and Samantha, officially signed to play softball for Lincon University Friday at Fulton High School.

Jayna Hedgpath made first-team all-state, first-team all-region and first-team all-district as an outfielder and all-conference as a position player this season.

In her final season with Fulton, Jayna Hedgpath hit .408 with 42 hits (21 singles, 13 doubles, seven home runs and a triple), five walks, 47 RBI and 32 runs in 115 plate appearances (103 at-bats). As a fielder, she had a .889 fielding percentage with 24 putouts.

Samantha Hedgpath earned second-team all-region and first-team all-district as an outfielder and all-conference as a position player in her senior campaign.

In 136 plate appearances (121 at-bats), Samantha Hedgpath hit .388 with 47 hits (24 singles, 16 doubles, six home runs and a triple), eight walks, 37 RBI and 48 runs this year. She tallied a .952 fielding percentage with 59 putouts and an assist.

The Hedgpath twins will join fellow Callaway County softball player New Bloomfield's Brooklyn Smith at Lincoln, starting in 2024-25. Smith will play her first season with the Blue Tigers this year.
