A free Narcan training and distribution event will be hosted by the Rotary Club of Fulton today.
The training and distribution will split in three 30 minute sessions -- 4:30-5 p.m., 5:15-5:45 p.m. and 6-6:30 p.m.
All sessions will be at the John C. Harris Community Center (350 Sycamore St.).
Narcan, also known as naloxone, is a nasal spray that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.
Each session will begin with a welcome and introduction, followed by two short videos. The sessions will conclude with 10 minutes of instruction by Callaway County EMS staff.
Pizza and drinks will be provided.
Participants in the training will receive a box of Narcan nasal spray. Each box contains two doses.
Registration is not required to attend.
The training and distribution event is sponsored by Callaway County EMS, Callaway County Health Department, the Family and Community Trust and the Rotary Club of Fulton.
