JEFFERSON CITY -- Competing in their first of two state competitions in less than a week, the Fulton Hornets' Ethan Milius earned all-state with a fifth-place finish, and Gabe DeFily placed ninth in the triple jump.

Fulton's two-sport spring sports duo of Milius and DeFily were the only Hornets to compete in the Class 4 state championships Saturday at Adkins Stadium.

While DeFily earned all-conference and all-district honors in the triple jump, Milius raked up more postseason accolades as he achieved all-state and all-district.

Milius went 44 feet, 4¼ inches in the triple jump to finish all-state. One place below all-state, DeFily leaped 42-05¼ in the event.

The Hornets' Milius and DeFily will hope to keep their spring sports postseason success going on the diamond when Fulton baseball (19-8) faces Class 4 No. 2 John Burroughs (26-3) in the Class 4 Semifinal 1 game at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Sky Bacon Stadium in Ozark.
