Graduate Katie French placed 12th during her first event of the 2023 NAIA National Championships Thursday afternoon.
She tossed a 44-foot, 8.61-inch throw on her third attempt in the shot put to land her in 12th. She threw 44-08.61 on her first attempt, and she fouled on her second attempt.
French will compete in the discus at noon today. Ellie Dimond will also compete at noon in the finals of the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
