Fulton track and field records five additional sectionals placings

MONTGOMERY CITY -- The Fulton Hornets took part in the remaining field events of the Class 4 District 4 meet Monday at Montgomery County High School.

Fulton's girls team finished seventh out of nine, scoring 53 points; Hannibal won the title with 1475. The Hornets' boys took eighth out of nine with 52, as Hannibal topped the leaderboard with 175.

Two Fulton boys athletes won the district title in an event: Will Wagner-Yates in the pole vault (11 feet, 4. 61 inches) and Ethan Milius in the triple jump (43-05.65).

The Hornets' had three third-place all-district finishes -- boys athlete Gabe DeFily in the triple jump (41-11.94) and Emmy Begemann in the long jump (15-11.34) and triple jump (32-10.49).

Fulton will compete in the Class 4 Sectional 2 meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mexico High School.
