Local Lemon set to begin in June, registration open

The Local Lemon, a youth entrepreneurship program offered by the Callaway Chamber of Commerce, is set to return this June.

The program aims to teach youth 10-16 years old how to start, own and operate their own business. For this program, the participants will run their very own lemonade stand.

The Local Lemon will be from June 5-8, with the participants launching their lemonade stands on June 10.

Applications for the program are due by May 15. Limited spots are available. The program is free to participate in.

Throughout the program, the youth will learn about several topics related to running a business. Some of the topics include goal setting, cost, location, and marketing, a chamber release states.

After the program is over, various award will be given out to the participants.

The participants in the program will also be able to walk away with the money they earn from launching their lemonade stand.
