Fulton native Knighten wins 100-pound title at 2023 Girls MO USA State Championships

KANSAS CITY -- Fulton native Era'Niq Knighten finished first in the 8U 100-pound bracket in the 2023 Girls Missouri USA State Championships Saturday at Hy-Vee Arena.

This weekend, some of Missouri's best wrestled for glory at the state championships. Some of the best in its history.

In Knigthen's matches, she locked up two opponents in less than 2 minutes.

Knighten not only finished first, but she also did in the co-Ed Moberly Christmas Tournament, Missouri USA Girls Nationals, Southern Boone Girls Tournament and Jefferson City Girls 8U Tournament.

For her career, Knighten has two state medals, a national championship and 21 wins making history in the Fulton Wrestling Club at 100 pounds. She is also the only girl to have this title within Fulton.

Knighten is a part of the Fulton wrestling team in Fulton. She is a third grader at Bush Elementary School.
