New Bloomfield boys golf tees off season

SALISBURY -- New Bloomfield boys golf opened its season with a match against Salisbury, Paris, Fayette and Moberly Thursday at Salisbury Municipal Golf Course.

The Wildcats took fourth out of the five teams, carding a 75-over-par 215. Host Salisbury -- who has returning state champions -- won the team title with a 157.

Salisbury also had the individual winner, with Nolan Gordon signing for an impressive 1-over-par 36; he had four pars and two birdies.

New Bloomfield's top golfer -- Travis Allen -- recorded a par on the par-4 first hole and finished with a 50.

The Wildcats' Robert Schrimpf was second with a 53, Brenan Fessler shot 54 and Payden Nagel shot a 58.

Next, New Bloomfield will tee off in the Russellville Tournament Wednesday.
