Missouri School For the Deaf track and field open season in Montomgery County Early Invite

MONTGOMERY CITY -- The Missouri School For the Deaf Eagles' boys/girls track and field teams started their season in the Montgomery County Early Invite Tuesday at Montgomery County High School.

Eagles boys athlete Trevor Lillard threw 44 feet, six inches in the javelin, leaped 12-05.75 in the long jump, and finished the 110-meter hurdles in 22.85 seconds and the 800 run in 2:37.7.

MSD's other boys athlete Mican Luttrell threw 36-0 in the discus and 16-10 in the shot put and completed the 100 dash in 17.24 and 400 dash in 1:31.

Eagles girls athlete Tracy Austin went 39-10 in the discus, and 18-09.75 in the shot put, finishing the 100 dash in 17.86.

MSD's Lindsay Freeman went 40-9 in the discus, 46.08 in the javelin while running the 100 dash in 20.48.

The Eagles' Rebecca Hull threw 15-07.5 in the shot put and completed the 200 dash in 38.30.

MSD's Isabella Davis reached 37-06 in the discus and 15-07.5 in the shot put.

The Eagles' Kari Mertens threw the javelin 31-05 and ran the 100 dash in 20.24 and 200 in 45.82.

MSD's Ja'Kaida Smith went 15-10.25 in the shot put and 9-09.5 in the long jump.

The Eagles' girls 4x100 relay finished the race in 1:14.44, while its 4x200 completed its event in 2:31.11.

"Some of them had their first track meet ever," Missouri School For the Deaf coach Heather Dunn said. "This year, MSD have their first javelin scored. WE all are continue improve."

Next, MSD will compete in the Fatima Invitational on April 4 in Westphalia.
