Fulton, North Callaway track and field begin season at Montgomery County Early Invite

MONTGOMERY CITY -- Fulton and North Callaway track and field each had three individual medalists and one relay medalist in the Montgomery County Early Invite Tuesday at Montgomery County High School.

Between Fulton and North Callaway, the Hornets' Heaven Hightower had the best finish, taking first out of 45 in the 100-meter run with a time of 13.48 seconds.

Fulton also had the only second-place finisher, as Carly Foster did in the shot put with a distance of 32 feet, 2 inches.

Rounding out the Hornets' medalists, Emmy Begemann placed third in the long jump (14-05.75), and their 4x100 relay team took third (0:58.17).

The Thunderbirds' three individual medalists all finished third -- Cora Tripp in the 100 hurdles (18.88 seconds), Jalyn Leible in the triple jump (32-03.5) and Kymorie Meyers in the discus (92-08).

On the relay side, North Callaway's 4x400 team earned a third-place finish with a time of 5:21.18.

Next, Fulton will participate in the Waynesville Open at 4 p.m. Thursday in Waynesville, while North Callaway will compete in the New Bloomfield Wildcat Relays at 2 p.m. Friday in New Bloomfield.
