HANNIBAL -- The Fulton Hornets opened their season with a 9-0 loss against a formidable North Central Missouri Conference opponent in Hannibal.
Fulton's Beau Edwards and William Harper battled in their singles matches but fell short, with each losing 6-8. And the Hornets' Carter Meyerhoff played great in his first tennis match but couldn't get the win, falling 4-8.
Next, Fulton (0-1, 0-1 NCMC) will host conference opponent Kirksville (0-0, 0-0) at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
