Fulton boys track and field’s Milius wins event in Fulton Early Season Open

FULTON -- Fulton boys track and field hosted the Fulton Early Season Open, competing against Rolla, California and Lighthouse Prep Friday at Fulton High School.

The event was essentially a jamboree as the results weren't official, and placing for some events wasn't tracked.

Of the tracked events, the Hornets had one first-place finisher -- Ethan Milius, who won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.48 seconds.

Rounding out Fulton's scores in the 100 dash, Gabe DeFily took fourth (11.84), Zachary Cooper seventh (12.08), Mark Hightower Jr. eighth (12.09) and Jeremiah Hutchins 15th (12.77).

In the 200 dash, the Hornets' Cooper finished third (25.24), Marcus Garrett eighth (27.24), Hutchins 13th (27.87), Adam Hicks 14th (28.14), William Wagner-Yates 17th (29.60) and Joshua Cole 19th (30.11).

Fulton's Adrian Lozano Jr. ran the 400 dash in 1:01.84, Joshua Dale in 1:05.44 and Sebastian Carter-Paup in 1:13.79. Placing wasn't tracked for the event.

Moving on to the hurdles, the Hornets Garrett took second in the 110 at 18.17. Aiden Fleetwood finished third (18.48), Cole seventh (23.03) and Dale eighth (23.39).

Fleetwood had Fulton's best time in the 300, clocking in at 49.38. The Hornets' Garrett completed the event in 51.58, Cole 57.27 and Dale 58.81.

The Hornets' Noah Combs had their best finish in the 800 run, taking third with a time of 2:20.16. Fulton's Nathan Buckwalter placed ninth (2:49.05), Ryne Shadbolt 10th (2:50.86), Angel Brown-Gutierrez 11th (2:55.89) and James Chuang 12th (3:24.07).

In the 1,600 run, Fulton's Noah Thompson took fourth (5:18.14), Kai Foster fifth (5:18.57), Combs sixth (5:23.59), Shadbolt 11th (6:11.58), Buckwalter 12th (6:12.21), Joshua Frazee 14th (6:18.35), Brown-Gutirrez 15th (6:37.92) and Chuang 16th (7:07.95).

For the 3,200 run, the Hornets' Foster finished third (11:37.81) and Thompson fourth (11:47.28).

The Hornets made up two of the three 4x800 relay teams. Fulton's first team took second (10:49.99), second team third (10:57.82).

Gabe DeFily recorded Fulton's best long jump, leaping 5.76 meters. Behind DeFily, the Hornets' Zachary Cooper notched a 5.31 leap, Hicks 4.55, Mark Hightower Jr. 4.18 and Brown-Guitterez 3.70.

Milius had Fulton's best triple jump, going 12.13 meters, while Dale went 8.61.

William Wagner-Yates went 2.88 meters for the Hornets in the pole vault. Fulton's Adam Hicks went 1.98 and Landon Maupin had no height.

Fulton's Carter-Paup recorded an 11.85-meter hurl for the shot put, Carter Sewell 9.40, Ethan Maupin 8.56 and Jacob Shawley 8.40.

In the javelin, the Hornets' Sewell registered a 29.17-meter throw, Shawley 27.17, Ethan 19.06, Carter-Paup 17.57 and Foster all scratch.

Last but not least was the discus; Fulton's Ethan tallied a 21.86-meter throw, Sewell 20.59 and Shawley 14.16.

Fulton will be back in action for the Montgomery County Early Invite at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday in Montgomery City.
