WARRENTON -- Taking on a school a class above, the Fulton Hornets couldn't contain the Class 3 Washington Blue Jays' offense.

In the second half, Washington mercy-ruled Fulton 8-0 in the opening match of the Warrenton Tournament Friday at Warrenton High School.

"We had really no shots to speak of; they came out and scored three goals very quickly; we made some adjustments and held them to just three more before halftime," Fulton coach Andy McKee said. "Keeper Grace Ousley had a great game as she had many great saves against a very tough Washington team. We had a couple girls that had knee injuries during the game.

"We just have to get better, not get discouraged, and continue to improve."

Capping off the Warrenton Tournament, Fulton (0-1) will face Sullivan (0-1) at 3 p.m. and Warrenton (0-0) at 7 p.m. Saturday.
