FULTON -- The No. 23 William Woods University women's tennis team fell to Newman University Wednesday afternoon, 6-1. The loss drops the Owls to 4-10 on the season.

The Owls next play (receiving votes) Midland University at 5 p.m. Saturday in St. Louis.


Lena Greefs won the only point for the Owls with a 7-5, 6-2 win in the two singles.

Marta Calvo Larraz and her opponent went into a tiebreaker in the second set, 7-6 (4).


The Hannah Meyer and Greefs duo in the three doubles grabbed the lone win for the Owls, 6-3.
