Lawn care webinars slated

University of Missouri Extension is offering a three-part Zoom webinar on lawn care this month.

The three Thursday sessions -- from 6-7 p.m. March 9, 16 and 23 -- will offer science-based information to help homeowners manage their lawns, according to MU Extension horticulturist Manoj Chhetri.

Each session offers information to help identify and resolve cultural and pest management issues for lawns. The target audience includes homeowners with some experience with lawns, public grounds managers, landscapers and garden center operators.

The first session will give cool-season lawn owners information on irrigation, weed control and pest management. The March 16 session focuses on warm-season lawns, including establishment, conversion from cool-season to warm-season lawns and pest management.

The March 23 session emphasizes an organic lawn care program, including low-input turfgrass selection, organic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides and insecticides.

The cost is $10. Register at extension.missouri.edu/events/lawn-care-webinar. For more information, contact Manoj at [email protected] or 660-663-3300.
