Westminster College interim associate vice president of intercollegiate athletics Todd Creal announced on Wednesday that Raul Lozano had been named assistant football coach and retention specialist.

"Raul Lozano comes to Westminster College with a tremendous reputation as a tireless recruiter," Creal said. "He was responsible not only for recruiting but helping lead the student-athlete experience for his players. He is a tremendous football coach that brings an incredible amount of talent and focus to his craft.

"We want to provide a great experience for our football student-athletes both on and off the field, and coach Lozano checks all boxes. We are extremely happy to have him join our team!"

Coach Lozano joins the Westminster College Blue Jay football team after spending the last three seasons as the linebackers coach, recruiting coordinator, special team coordinator and NAIA athletics admissions counselor at Iowa Wesleyan University.

Raul is a 2015 graduate of Iowa Wesleyan and got his MAML in Athletic Administration in 2022. He is originally from Sacramento, CA, and has a five-year-old son named Raul Lozano IV.

His brother Joseph Lozano will also attend Westminster College as a junior majoring in psychology.

"Raul will bring a wealth of college coaching and recruiting experience to Westminster College," Blue Jay football head coach John Welty said. "I am looking forward to working with him."

Coach Lozano will hit the ground running as the Blue Jay football team will host its first summer camp Saturday.
