North Callaway boys wrestling has a successful week

North Callaway boys wrestling swept the Macon Quad and won the team championship in the Priory Invitational last week.

The Thunderbirds beat Chillicothe 45-29, Palmyra 60-18 and Macon 52-24 in the Macon Quad Thursday in Macon.

On Saturday in St. Louis, North Callaway competed in the Priory Invitational and won the team championship with 253 points.

Here are the individual results for the Thunderbirds in the invitational:

113 pounds: Tristan Young, third with a pin.

126: John Higgins, third with a pin.

132: Lane Kimbley, champion with five pins.

138: AJ Siegel, second with three pins.

144: Cashton Holloway, second with three pins.

150: Carson Safranksi, second with four pins.

157: Eli Henry, champion with five pins.

165: Wyatt Haden, champion with three pins.

190: Casper Safranski, second with four pins.

North Callaway improved its dual record to 10-2 and has two team championships, a second place and two third-place finishes in tournaments this season.

Next, North Callaway will compete in the Mexico Quad at 9 a.m. Saturday in Mexico, Missouri.
