Katie French hit the NAIA "A" Standard as she broke the William Woods shot put record at the UCM Mule Relays hosted by the University of Central Missouri Saturday in Warrensburg. The Owls finished with 11 top 10 finishes and 17 top 20 finishes, two marks in the record book and five personal records.
Throws
French thew 13.92 meters on her fourth shot put attempt to win the event, break her own record from 2021 and hit the NAIA "A" Standard. She also placed fifth in the weight throw with a 15.44-meter toss.
Jumps
Nia Hawkins placed second out of 17 in the long jump with a 5.06-meter jump. She set a new PR in the triple jump with a 10.36-meter jump.
Trinity Thomas placed ninth in the triple jump with a 10.27-meter jump and 10th in the long jump with a 4.73-meter jump.
Heather Harbison moved up to second in the record book for her 2.67-meter jump in the pole vault while also setting a new PR.
Track
Mekayla Gibson set two new PRs, finishing fourth in the 800-meter run with a 2:36.05 time and sixth in the mile with a 5:31.97 time.
Emma Clifford finished 10th in the 600-yard dash with a 1:43.27 time.
