North Callaway boys wrestling places second in EMO Tournament

North Callaway boys wrestling took second as a team and had two champions and six runner-ups in the Eastern Missouri Conference Tournament Saturday.

The Thunderbirds finished 20 points behind the conference champion, Adrian.

Leading the way in North Callaway's second-place team finish were Lane Kimbley (132-pound) and Caleb Rohrbach (215-pound), who each won their division. Kimbley went 5-0 with four pins and a technical fall, while Rohrbach went 5-0 with three pins.

Meanwhile, the Thunderbirds' Cashton Holloway (138-pound), Gabe O'Neal (144-pound), Carson Safranski (150-pound), Eli Henry (157-pound), Mathias Lobb (165-pound) and Casper Safranski (190-pound) placed second on their divisions.

Holloway went 4-1 with three pins, O'Neal 3-2 with two pins, Carson 4-1 with four pins, Henry 4-1 with four pins, Lobb 4-1 with two pins and Casper 4-1 with four pins.

Rounding out North Callaway's performances, Tristan Young (113-pound) and Wyatt Haden (157-pound) took third in their divisions. Young went 4-1 with three pins and Haden 3-2 with three pins.

On the girls' side, the Ladybirds' Brooke Giboney finished third with a pin in the 105-pound weight class.

Next, North Callaway will face Macon in a dual at 5 p.m. Thursday at Macon High School in Macon.
