Fulton girls wrestling placed seventh as a team, and the Hornets' Emmy Begemann took home the 125-pound division title in the Hickman Girls Tournament Saturday at Hickman High School in Columbia.
Begemann had Fulton's only first-place finish; she beat Lee's Summit North's Cadie Reiss by fall (1:29) in the 125-pound title match. The sophomore won all three of her matchups by pin.
The Hornets' Maddie Bright finished second in the 155-pound division with two pins. Bright lost to Southern Boone's Addy Pasley by fall (2:31) in the championship match.
Rilee Swaim (135-pound) and Carly Foster (170-pound) placed third for Fulton. Swaim had two pins, before beating Edwardsville's Bri Miller by decision (12-5) in the third-place match. Foster notched three pins, including her third-place victory by fall (0:58) over Northwest's (Cedar Hill) Ava Arenz.
Olivia Weaver took seventh for the Hornets in the 110-pound division, with a technical fall (3:17, 19-3) over Edwardsville's Maddy Allen in the seventh-place match.
Up next, Fulton will host Fatima, Moberly and Winfield in the Fulton Quad at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fulton High School in Fulton.
