Fulton boys wrestling’s Ray earns 100th career victory

Fulton boys wrestling placed 10th as a team and had four medalists in the Hickman Boys Tournament Saturday at Hickman High School in Columbia.

Ja'Dontae Ray, one of the Hornets' medalists, achieved his 100th career victory when he beat a formidable opponent from Northwest (Cedar Hill) in the quarterfinals of the 215-pound division.

Fultons' four medalists were Cole Blattner (first in 106-pound), Elijah Brocksmith (third in 157-pound), Ray (third in 215-pound) and Kai Foster (fourth in 126-pound).

Meanwhile, the Hornets' James Dooley took 11th and Ryne Shadbolt 13th in the 120-pound division, Sebastian Carter-Paup 13th in 175-pound, Aidan Haglund 13th in 190-pound, Jeremiah Hutchins 15th in 165-pound, Gage Cannon 16th in 285-pound, Braydon Jolly 19th in 144-pound and Corey Glenn 20th in 150-pound.

Next, Fulton will host Fatima, Moberly and Winfield in the Fulton Quad at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fulton High School in Fulton.
