10 grams of controlled substances recovered by sheriff’s office

The Callaway County Sheriff's Office recovered 10 grams of controlled substances Tuesday evening.

According to the CCSO, proactive patrols and business checks resulted in this recovery. The incident started as a vehicle check by a sheriff's office deputy.

The incident occurred in the area near Renz Farm Rd., located south of Holts Summit

The 10 grams of controlled substances includes Fentanyl and meth, among other controlled substances.

Rodney Hayes, 35, was arrested by the CCSO. He is charged with trafficking drugs (2nd degree), unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and three counts of possession of controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid.

Hayes remains at the Callaway County Jail with a bond of $75,000.
