Callaway County positions to open for 2024 filing


Several elected positions in Callaway County will open for filing in 2024.

The positions include:

• assessor, currently held by Jody Paschal

• eastern district commissioner, currently held by Randall Kleindienst

• western district commissioner, currently held by Roger Fischer

• public administrator, currently held by Karen Digh-Allen

• sheriff, currently held by Clay Chism

• treasurer, currently held by Debbie Zerr

• township or ward committeeman.

To qualify for assessor, one must be a resident of the county.

To qualify for eastern or western district commissioner, one must be a resident of the county, be a resident of district and be a registered voter.

To qualify for public administrator, one must be at least 21 years of age, resident of Missouri and the county at least one year prior to the election, current in the payment of all personal and business taxes, provide a signed affidavit that indicates you meet bond requirements and be a registered voter.

To qualify for sheriff, one must be a resident of the county for more than one year prior to the election, resident taxpayer and elector of the county, no felony convictions, capable of efficient law enforcement, have a valid peace officer license and be a registered voter.

To qualify for treasurer, one must be at least 21 years of age, resident of the state and county at least one year prior to the election, current in payment of personal and real estate taxes, provide a signed affidavit that indicates you meet bond requirements and be a registered voter.

To qualify for a township or ward committeeman, one must be a resident of county and committee district at least one year prior to the election, and be a registered voter in county and district at least one year prior to the election.
