Fulton Street Fair committee made a generous donation to three local organizations.

The Fulton Street Fair donated $1,000 each to Faith Maternity, Our House and SERVE, Inc.

Melissa Siegel, Fulton Street Fair secretary, said the committee was doing well at managing finances, so expenses were down. Based on how much their profit was this past year, there was more money than what the committee felt comfortable holding onto.

Typically the Fulton Street Fair votes on who gets that donation, but rather than voting, the committee decided to give it to the top three organizations, she said.

The street fair donated a percentage of their profit to organizations within Callaway County. The donation are the result from a successful street fair last year.

"We hope that our donation will help them in anyway possible as they help serve the people here," said Fulton Street Fair on their Facebook page.

Checks were issued on Nov. 30 to the three organizations and mailed at the beginning of December, Siegel said.

The first meeting of the Fulton Street Fair committee has already happened and this year's street fair will be held around June 23 to 24, Siegel said.

The Fulton Street Fair is in June and it takes a lot of planning to get the street fair going, so the next few months will be about prepping for the fair, she said.
