William Woods graduates recognized for outstanding teaching

Two recent graduates from the William Woods University School of Education were selected for recognition as outstanding beginning teachers.

Elizabeth Kasubke and Summer Woodside both graduated from WWU in 2021 with degrees in elementary education.

They were selected as Missouri outstanding beginning teachers by the Missouri Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (MACTE), according to a release from WWU.

Kasubke, originally from Mexico, is currently a 5th grade teacher at Bush Elementary.

Woodside, originally from St. Louis, is a 3rd grade teacher at Bartley Elementary.

Both said in a release they are grateful for their education and the opportunities they had at WWU.

MACTE recognizes outstanding first and second year teachers across Missouri their work with PK-12 students every two yearas.

Kasubke and Woodside will be recognized during the MACTE Spring Conference on March 2 and 3 in Columbia.
