Fulton Professional Firefighters preparing for golf tournament

The Fulton Professional Firefighters will host their annual golf tournament Sept. 8.

The entry fee is $400 per team and covers four players. The fee includes entry to the tournament, lunch and beverages. Free beer carts will be available.

Lunch from MOJOs Bar & Grill will be served at noon. The 18 hole tournament will tee off at 1 p.m.

There will be raffle prizes available, with ticket prices to be announced.

Daniel Bailey, member of the Fulton Professional Firefighters, said the proceeds from the tournament will go "back to the union" which are then used to make donations throughout the year.

Examples of charities supported in the past include Midwest Children's Burn Camp, Boys and Girls Town and Tunnels to Towers, said Justin Putnam, member of the Fulton Professional Firefighters.

The amount the organization raises depends on the amount of teams and sponsorships, Bailey said, adding there are usually around 30 teams.

Bailey said part of the money raised goes back into "operating costs" for the event, like catering and venue fees.

The tournament will be at Tanglewood Golf Course, 818 Golf Dr.
