Farmers' Mutual Insurance Company of Callaway County recently donated $10,000 to Callaway Youth Expo (CYE) for renovations to the fairgrounds.

At the CYE meeting on Aug. 24, fundraising chair Kristen Benne announced the group had passed the initial fundraising goal of $150,000, according to a CYE release.

With the initial goal met, CYE is ready to proceed with demolition. The group has been raising funds to replace the concession stand at the fairgrounds with a new multipurpose building, according to a release. This building will house a meeting space, new bathrooms and a concession stand.

Construction on the project is scheduled to be finished by the 2024 CYE Fair on July 8-13. The 2023 fair was from July 11-15.

In May, Kingdom Telephone donated and installed a new sound system for the CYE's rodeo arena.
